DJ Notation

Today I stumbled on a link to a website about DJ Notation. A method that allows DJs to describe the composition of a song to enabled DJs to make better mix transitions.

I had heared about it once but I’ve never seen any DJ use this in real live. I think it is way to much work and once you analyzed a song in that much detail you probably have memorized the entire song already. Besides that are there more system coming on the market that give an graphical overview of a track that should help with this also. I already use this on the Pioneer CDJ-1000. Especially when you zoom in you see a lot of track detail and create the necesary cue points and loops that also show up on the display.
