Kelis - Acapella

I think Kelis has already made a great repertoire of music that contributed to new musical styles. However, I always had this feeling that there was more possible. Milkshake was ok and I did like Trick me a lot better. But from the moment I heard Acapella from her, I was sold!

Commercial Beatgridding Warping

Ableton Live Warping

Beatgridding or warping, a lot of people today prepare their tracks before playing them live. Not my most favorite job, it always gives me that boring old school homework feeling. But once done the results you can achieve are of course worth the suffering.

I recently ran into a website that offers Traktor Beatgridding and Ableton Warping as commercial services. You send your tracks and them, or actually him (www.steven-james.com), will beatgrid or warp them for you.

Pioneer HDJ-2000 VS Sennheiser HD-25

Pioneer HDJ-2000

A few weeks ago I purchased the Pioneer CDJ-2000 players and won a HDJ-2000 with my invoice number. That all thanks to the great team of Bax-Shop. A few months back I wrote that me and my Sennheiser HD-25 SP1 are forever. As in, till death do us apart. Or am I going to commit adultery with the new Pioneer HDJ-2000.

With a magnesium alloy and a price that goes through the roof they do have something special at Pioneer. So I did a test and compared it to the Sennheiser HD-25.

Simpsons - Do the bartman

This month’s acapella is going to be a very simple but famous acapella, since everybody knows the Simpsons. The song Do the Bartman was part of the Simpsons album that was released in 1990. I didn’t have the numbers sharp but it seems that the single hit a lot of number 1 spots in the charts all around the world. In the Netherlands it got as close as number 3.

Break the silence

It has been quiet for a few weeks while I’ve been busy with all kinds of stuff. I’ve worked hard on the migration of my server to Windows 2008 that I use for my music workflow and lots of other stuff. I’m playing around with my new set of Pioneer CDJ-2000 players which you can expect to hear more about soon, as well as the accompanying Rekordbox software.

So stay tuned for site updates…
